Terms of Service
By playing Soccerankia you agree to these terms. They are deliberately plain.
The service
Soccerankia is a free browser game run by the operator named at the foot of this page. It is provided as it is, with no guarantee of availability, and it may change or stop at any time.
If the game closes for good, we say so on the site beforehand where we can, and the accounts and everything in them are deleted.
Who can play
There is no minimum age. Play as a guest without an account at all, or open one and run a career, at seven or at seventy. There is nothing in this game a child should be kept out of: no purchases, no advertising, no messaging between players, and nothing that would trouble a content rating.
One thing does depend on age, and it is a name. Your footballer's name, your team's name and your lobby's name are what every other player reads, so until you have said you are 13 or over they are picked or written for you — the footballer's name generated by the server, the lobby named after your footballer, the team left with its default — and once you have said so, whatever you type still goes through the same guardrail as any other public text. Those names are the only free text on an account, which is why they are the only thing here with an age on it.
If you are under 18, read these terms with a parent or guardian before you accept them. In most countries a minor cannot be held to an agreement they accepted alone.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password and your recovery code. Because we hold no email address, a lost recovery code cannot be reset and the account cannot be recovered.
One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not create accounts to evade a restriction.
Because we hold nothing else about you, the username with the password or the recovery code is also the only way we can tell that a request about an account — to delete it, or to send a copy of it — really comes from its owner. A request that arrives without them is one we cannot act on.
Fair play
The match is simulated on the server, and the server is the only authority on what happened. Do not attempt to modify, automate or interfere with the client, the protocol or another player's session.
Deliberately ruining matches — leaving repeatedly, standing idle, or scoring in your own goal on purpose — may lead to restrictions.
Content and conduct
Treat other players decently. The game is fictional throughout: clubs, competitions and players are invented and are not connected to any real organisation.
The only things you write into the game are names: a footballer's, a team's, a lobby's. They pass the same guardrail before anyone sees them, and by typing one you let us show it to other players for as long as it is in the game. Do not use a name to say something you would not say to a stranger's face, and do not use a real person's name that is not yours.
The game itself — its code, art, rules, and the invented clubs, competitions and players — belongs to the operator. You get a licence to play it in your browser, and nothing more: not to copy it, sell it, or pass it off as your own.
Restrictions and closing an account
Two things happen on their own, both in a match. Stand idle for a minute and the server removes you from it, so the other players are not left with a statue. And leaving a match before the end — walking out, staying disconnected, or being removed like that — earns nothing for that match and, on a registered account, costs a flat 60 experience and 40 gold, never below zero; a guest, who keeps no balance, is only denied the reward.
For anything else in these terms, the operator may restrict or close an account — how long, and for what, depends on what was done — and will say why, to the address below, if you ask. There is nobody but the operator to appeal to, and you may.
You can close your own account at any time from the data rights page, without asking.
Changes to these terms
When these terms or the privacy notice change, the effective date at the top changes with them, and the version you accepted is recorded on your account. If the change matters, you are asked to accept the new version the next time you sign in, before you play; if you would rather not, you can delete your account instead.
Small corrections — a typo, a clearer sentence that says the same thing — are not re-asked.
Liability
The game is provided free and without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from its use, including lost progress.
That does not reach as far as the law forbids: nothing here excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, and nothing here takes away a right a consumer has under the law of the country they live in.
Which law, and which language
These terms are governed by Turkish law, and a dispute about them goes to the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, that does not take away the protection of your own country's consumer law or your right to go to a court where you live.
The terms and the notices are written in English and in Turkish, and both say the same thing. If a difference is ever found between them, the Turkish text applies in Türkiye and the English text everywhere else. The site's other languages show the English text.
