How to play
Soccerankia is a 2D arcade online soccer game. You control one player; the rest of the pitch is filled from the lobby.
How a match works
- 1Hit Quick Match, or browse the open lobbies and join one.
- 2Pick your team and your position. Captains choose the kit colours.
- 3Everyone readies up, the countdown runs, and the referee starts the match.
- 4Play the full match, then collect your XP and improve your player.
Controls
Outfield
- Move: arrow keys
- Sprint: hold E
- Feint: double-tap E
- Turn on the spot: hold Ctrl
- Pass: S
- One-two: W
- Shoot: D
- Curled shot: hold Q, then D (towards facing)
- Chip / lofted through pass: hold W, then D
- Cross: A
- Drop the ball: Q
- Safe shoulder / standing challenge: D
- Risky slide tackle (foul/card risk): A
- Call for the ball: Q
Goalkeeper
- Move: arrow keys

Fetch the ball (1v1 only): F
On a touch screen the same actions appear as on-screen buttons under the pitch.
Rules
Real football rules apply: goals, throw-ins, corners, goal kicks, free kicks, penalties, fouls, yellow and red cards. Offside is off by default in small-sided games and on from 8v8 upwards, and the host can override it.
Tips
- One press is a full action — nothing is charged. Hold Q and a left or right arrow before you shoot to curl it.
- Sprinting drains stamina, and tired players are slower. Use it in bursts.
- A mistimed tackle is a foul, and inside your own area it is a penalty.
- Passing accuracy earns XP, so the safe ball is rarely the wrong ball.
Questions
Is Soccerankia free to play?
Yes. The game runs in your browser and costs nothing. There is nothing to buy, and no attribute can be purchased.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It is a browser game — desktop or mobile, with on-screen controls when you are on a touch screen.
Do I control the whole team?
No. You take one player for the whole match, and the rest of the pitch is filled from the lobby. Someone has to go in goal, too.
How many players can play?
Anything from 1v1 to 11v11. Smaller formats use simplified positions; 11v11 uses real football positions and has offside on by default.
Can I play without an account?
Yes. Start as a guest and play immediately. Your XP is cached for 24 hours, and registering transfers it to your new account.
